Measurement Solutions

When addressing the complex measurement challenges in the nuclear industry, we deliver measurement solutions for a wide range of radioactive materials - for example, depleted-to-highly-enriched uranium, plutonium, actinides and transuranic wastes as well as fission and activation products. 

For fuel cycle facilities, we offer unique Criticality Accident Alarm Systems (CAAS) with neutron and gamma detections for optimum false alarm rate.

MILCC

(MOBILE IOSCS LARGE CONTAINER COUNTER) SYSTEM

A transportable system for the characterization of large waste containers.

This simple, yet powerful, system can be transported in the back of a pickup truck or deployed in a trailer, simplifying field measurement scenarios where fixed systems are not easily implemented.

MILCC offers the following additional benefits:

Flexibility – with ISOCS calibrated detectors, this system accommodates a full range of geometries, including large waste container sizes. Other options include:

  • Electronic cooling
  • Custom cart for multiple applications 
  • Integrated ISOCS efficiencies for custom assays 
  • Wireless communication between MCA and PC 
  • Hardware including turntables, collimators and filters


Suitability for higher count rates - The MILCC system can count drums that have been rejected by other systems that have been designed to assay lower count rate wastes. Shorter count times – With two large-volume BEGe detectors, the MILCC system offers shorter count times. Full-featured software - NDA2000 manages data acquisition, efficiency calibrations, QC’s, and analysis. Reliability – With industry-standard Canberra hardware and software, the MILCC system provides the flexibility you need along with the results you can rely on.
